I chatter mostly about four of my great loves: reading, writing, language learning and knitting. I read mostly[Young Adult] fantasy, although I'm noticing more sci-fi shoehorning itself into and on top of my reading lists. What is it they say about balanced diets, a cake in each hand...? Book posts are my favourite kind, and so they prevail here. But, as this blog is a wild and free spirited thing, I can't guarantee that you won't run into talk of intricate lace socks where you least expect it. Well. Don't say I didn't warn you.
I'll post mostly in English, but I try to review books in the languages I read them in wherever my competencies allow. This means, mostly, French and Swedish. I occasionally manage to trick my brain into understanding German, but it is considerably harder to trick my tongue into speaking it. After all, there is such a lot of grammar.
Writing happens rarely, and mostly on my Wordpress blog Kaffee und Kuchen. This is mostly a NaNoWriMo blog, so expect to see much frustration and early burnout. I am happy to talk about my writing, sometimes even when it is the kind of intensely embarrassing that only 14 year olds can cause. (Once, I even thought I could write poetry. There: now you know).
'About Me's have never been my favourite thing. For those* who wish to know what, precisely, I want to accomplish with this blog, I direct you to this post. It is very eloquent and noble and it gets a bit soppy around the middle but I think it's worth pushing through to the end.
Enjoy,
Your
Little Newman
